NATASHA MOLOTKOVA /PAPER ILLUSTRATION
Originally from the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, Natasha has recently graduated from the University of Worcester in the UK where she majored in surface pattern design. Natasha works using a quilling technique that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create illustrative designs. This traditional craft has gone through many transformations and changes through the ages using new techniques, styles and materials. Modern artists are now expressing their designs using a dimensional quilling technique, or Papergraphic method, to create inspiring 3D works. Papergraphic artwork is captured well by photography, then lending itself to a variety of other uses. Papergraphics offer a fresh perspective on surface patterns design and illustration by mixing the latest technologies with craft-based skills.
